Welcome!  An extraordinary web of artistry spans the nation and the world from the Academy of Art University’s home base in San Francisco. Capturing the personalities, events and issues within this network of creativity and enterprise is the purpose of our Newsfeed — to bring the stories of Academy of Art University students, faculty, alumni and supporters to life, and to share all of the compelling news centered on this exceptional arts school, one of America’s largest.

Discovering, activating and nurturing the talents of students who come to the Academy from around the globe is the school’s singular passion. These gifted young artists’ abilities are kindled to life by an exceptional group of teachers, all themselves professional artists with their own tales to tell and accomplishments to share. And Academy alumni have taken their imagination and skills into all creative disciplines from film to fashion to fine arts, making their marks with energy and dedication.

About the Editor: Tom Biederbeck’s enthusiasm for the arts and creative expression crosses all boundaries and encompasses all disciplines. As editor of the Academy of Art University Newsfeed, he presents the personalities and accomplishments of the 15 schools that make up the Academy. To bring their stories to the larger world, Tom draws on skills gained in the realms of publishing, journalism, design and corporate communication — most recently as editor-in-chief of STEP inside design magazine.
